Featured Designer: Tali Furman

Featured Designer: Tali Furman:

You may recognize today’s featured designer, Tali Furman, from a previous Pattern Observer feature. I love her work, so I was thrilled to see her new pieces and to hear about all of her success over the past few months! Tali started designing textiles for one of the biggest companies in Israel, GOLF, and recently moved to London to attend a MA program at the Royal College of Art.
It is wonderful to see a designer’s work evolve over time and I think these new abstract pieces are a wonderful addition to her collage-inspired work. To learn more about Tali, please visit her website. Have a fantastic weekend!

Canevas Spaces by Charlotte Lancelot

Canevas Spaces by Charlotte Lancelot:

I’ve always loved the look of oversized stitching. I love that sort of detailing on just about anything, but I especially love it on furniture. These ottomans, cushions and rugs were designed by Charlotte Lancelot and have that same stitch detailing I love. To me they look like giant needlepoint projects that were filled in with brightly colored yarn. The collection was designed to be mixed-and-matched together, but I think just one of these pieces would be perfect. Bonus? The model totally reminds me of Jay McCarrol’s winning crochet/headphone collection for Project Runway. Click here to check out and shop the full collection online, prices range from $245 (cushions)- $3k (rugs). xo, grace

Chapel Street Installation by Studio Twocan

Chapel Street Installation by Studio Twocan:
I truly believe that collaboration is one of the best ways to make any business successful. It allows you to constantly change and grow and lets you share and exchange audiences with another artist. I particularly love stores embracing collaboration with local designers — it always adds so much visual interest to a space. In celebration of their latest collection, Australian fashion studio Cylk collaborated with local designers Twocan (sisters Maddy and Becc Sharrock) on an installation for their flagship store on Chapel Street in Melbourne. Twocan created a sculptural installation that combined natural and recycled materials, including pieces of copper pipe and colored thread. I’ve got a weakness for just about anything combined with copper pipe, so this is going on my dream decoration list. Click here to see more images on Cylk’s Facebook page. Thanks, Maddy and Becc! xo, grace
