…and I am also thrilled to share the work of Portland, Oregon based JuJu Papers! JuJu Papers was founded by designer Avery Thatcher in 2010. Avery and her team print every wallpaper roll by hand and take special care to use water based inks on creamy, durable, sustainably harvested paper.
“Primarily inspired by folk art of all kinds, our designs suggest the simplicity of an elegant old-fashioned signature, or the impossibly perfect collection of driftwood and sea glass on the shore. It’s the quick gesture that gives our wallpapers their musical expression. We offer bespoke services, and all of our papers are available in custom colors. Designers and dealers should contact Avery Thatcher directly.”

I saw this work posted on tumblr and I love it so much I wanted to share it here.
Holly, who created these pieces, says: As a fairly new analogue photography addict, I have an increasing collection of photo prints and very little room to store them. (I live in a space only marginally bigger than a cupboard.) And since I’m not quite that world-renowned photographer capturing something breathtaking in every frame (yet) I imagine that trying to sell the prints would result in a drop in self-esteem and no increase in storage space.
But then, armed with the knowledge that Carl Sagan makes everything better, I had the idea of using the prints as fabric on which to stitch quotes from the book Cosmos. And so here are the beginnings of my little art project, Postcards From The Cosmos.
This series makes me happy. I can’t wait to see what Holly comes up with next.

Another show that Kim was working on behind the scenes, Fred Butler's salon show felt very Harajuku-inspired; a combination of the cute colours of pink, green and white, knitwear and the wigs sported by the models felt like a Manga fantasy brought to life. The geometric body armour wouldn't have looked out of place on a Japanese cartoon princess either, while the headpieces were clearly origami inspired. There was a live soundtrack provided by Charli XCX which added a fun spontaneous touch that personally I think should be a more regular feature at Fashion Week.

When I first came across images of the Large Hadron Collider, buried under Switzerland and part of France, I was struck by the amazing colors and patterns. I knew immediately that this machine would provide inspiration for a series of textile pieces.
